Leona To Sing Avatar Theme Song

Leona is to sing the theme tune to James Cameron’s upcoming science fiction film, Avatar.

Leona’s recording of the song ‘I See You’ will accompany the closing credits of the film. I See You has been produced by James Horner and Simon Fraglen who also worked on Celine Dion’s Titanic hit ‘My Heart Will Go On’. The release date of the films soundtrack is 14th December which can be pre-ordered here .

The film was first conceived 15 years ago but the technology of the time wasn’t good enough of the complex visual effects. Avatar is hyped to have groundbreaking computer generated special effect and will be shown in ‘Real D 3D’ and’ IMAX 3D’ presentaions. Avatar is set during the 22nd century on a small moon called Pandora, which orbits a gas giant, and is inhabited by the tribal Na’vi, ten foot blue humanoids that are peaceful unless attacked. Humans cannot breathe Pandoran air, so they genetically engineer human/Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars that can be controlled via a mental link. A paralyzed Marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) volunteers to exist as an Avatar on Pandora, falling in love with a Na’vi princess and becoming caught up in the conflict between her people and the human military that is consuming their world.

Echo Is Out Now !

The wait is over. Leona’s second album Echo is in stores today (16th November). Echo is the follow up to her six million plus seller, four times Brit–nominated and three times Grammy-nominated debut album Spirit. The album looks to be a huge success as ‘Bleeding Love’ wrtiter Ryan Tedder as well as Ne-Yo, John Shanks, Max Martin and Julian Bennetta all helped contribute to the album.

Happy Debuts At No.2 In UK Chart

Leona’s New Single ‘Happy’ entered it’s first week in the UK Charts at No.2. It was beaten to the top spot by The Black Eyed Pea’s (with ’Meet Me Half Way’) who performed on X Factor before Leona did last week. It will be hard for Leona to get the top spot this week as the X Factor charity single is out but lets hope the promotion for Echo keeps ‘Happy’ high in the charts.
